Service Certificates & Guarantees
Miele Ireland, 2024 Bianconi Avenue, Citywest Business Campus, Dublin 24 is granting the purchaser an additional 25-year guarantee on the motor for washing machines, tumble dryers and washer-dryers. The guarantee on the motor applies in addition to the two-year Miele appliance warranty and the statutory warranty rights with respect to the seller (which the purchaser can exercise free of charge) without restricting these. The guarantee conditions outlined below apply exclusively to new appliances.
I. Duration and commencement of the guarantee period
- The guarantee on the motor is granted for a period of 25 years, provided the motor is used as intended.
- The guarantee period commences on the purchase invoice date of the appliance.
Services and spare parts deliveries to meet guarantee claims do not result in an extension of the original guarantee period.
II. Prerequisites for the guarantee
- The 25-year guarantee on the motor applies exclusively to washing machines, tumble dryers and washer-dryers from the domestic range used in a domestic setting. Professional machines, ironers and Little Giants are excluded.
- The appliance was purchased through an authorised dealer or directly from Miele in a country within the European Economic Area or Switzerland on or after 01.10.2025 and is also installed in one of these countries.
- The motor guarantee was activated within the two-year appliance warranty period by registering the appliance via the Miele website Login or Register. Following successful activation, you will receive confirmation along with these motor guarantee conditions in the form of an e-mail sent to the e-mail address stored in the customer account.
- A claim under the guarantee must be made via Miele Customer Service or a service agent authorised by Miele. Miele Customer Service can be contacted via Contact.
- Proof of guarantee (purchase invoice) and confirmation of its activation (confirmation e-mail) must be produced at the request of the service technician.
III. Content and scope of the guarantee
- Following notification by the purchaser, motor defects will be remedied within a reasonable period of time at no charge, at our option either through repair or replacement of the motor or the affected motor parts. Costs incurred in this process including transportation, call-out costs, labour and the cost of spare parts will be borne by Miele Ireland Replaced parts or appliances are the property of Miele Ireland
- The guarantee does not cover any further claims for damage against Miele Ireland, unless an authorised service agent commissioned by Miele Ireland acts with intent or gross negligence.
IV. Restriction of the guarantee
Faults or defects resulting from the following are not covered by the guarantee:
- Improper installation, e.g. non-compliance with relevant safety regulations and written operating and installation instructions
- Improper use and operation such as the use of unsuitable detergents or chemicals
- Deviating specifications of an appliance purchased in another country of the European Economic Area or Switzerland, as a result of which the appliance cannot be used or can only be used with restrictions
- External factors such as damage caused through transportation, impact or jolting, inclement environmental conditions or natural phenomena
- Repairs or modifications not performed by service agents trained and authorised by Miele
- Failure to use genuine Miele spare parts or accessories authorised by Miele
- Current or voltage fluctuations which exceed or drop below the tolerances stipulated by Miele
V. Data protection

The following terms of contract apply for the Extended Warranty, notwithstanding statutory rights in the case of defects and without restricting the same. Asserting these statutory rights is free of charge.
1. Duration and start of cover
1.1 Miele Ireland grants a 2-year guarantee from the date of purchase of the unit. With the Extended Warranty, Miele Ireland covers the cost of repairs for further one, three or eight years immediately after the guarantee period. The validity period is shown on the front of the policy document.
1.2 The policy document will be provided by e-mail.
1.3 Repair of the machine or the provision of spare parts does not extend the period of the contract.
2. Conditions
2.1 The machine has been purchased from an authorised specialist retailer or directly from Miele in an EU country, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Switzerland or Norway.
2.2 At time of purchase of the Extended Warranty, location of the unit is within Republic of Ireland.
2.3 The policy document is only valid for one specific Miele machine in each case and is non-transferable, inclusive of if the appliance is returned within a money-back guarantee promotion.
2.4 If the ownership of the machine changes or if the owner moves to a different address, Miele must be informed so that the policy document remains valid.
2.5 The policy document must be registered and taken out within the deadline specified in the promotional terms & conditions.
2.6 The services within the framework of the Extended Warranty will only be provided within the EU, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Switzerland and Norway.
2.7 Services within the scope of the Extended Warranty may only be performed by Miele Customer Service or a service agent authorised by Miele Ireland. Miele Customer Service can be contacted via miele.ie/service.
2.8 If requested by Miele, the purchase receipt and the policy document are to be shown.
2.9 If the customer is not entitled to a claim under the Extended Warranty, the costs of repairs and other services rendered (e.g. inspection of the device) will be invoiced according to the applicable rates.
2.10 A unit with policy document is for non-commercial use only.
2.11 The Extended Warranty is not available for coffee makers, ProfiLine dishwashers, Little Giants and Miele Professional appliances. Special service offers apply for these devices.
3. Cover and range
3.1 Machine defects will be remedied free-of-charge within a reasonable period through either repair or the replacement of the affected parts. All travel costs, call-out charges, labour and spares costs will be assumed by Miele Ireland. Exchange parts or appliances become the property of Miele Ireland.
3.2 If the machine is beyond economic repair or if repair is impossible, the customer will be provided with an identical or equivalent new machine. With a replacement machine, communication (connectivity) with other machines and the existing domestic system cannot be guaranteed. Alternatively, if requested, the appropriate current market value of the machine may be reimbursed. If the current market value of the appliance is reimbursed by Miele, the policy document becomes invalid. If the machine is replaced, the remaining period of cover provided by the policy document is transferred to the new unit.
3.3 The Extended Warranty does not cover any further claims for damage against Miele Ireland, except in cases resulting from gross or willful negligence on the part of the technical service agent commissioned by Miele Ireland or liability resulting from fatal injury, physical injury or damage to health.
3.4 The provision of consumables and accessories is not covered by this agreement.
4. Limitations
The Extended Warranty will not cover costs for repairs where a fault is due to the following:
4.1 Improper installation, e.g. non-compliance with relevant safety regulations and written operating and installation instructions.
4.2 Improper use and operation, such as the use of unsuitable detergents or chemicals as well as damage caused by the intake of fluids, construction dust or toner.
4.3 A machine purchased in another EU member state, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Switzerland or Norway may not be suitable for use or may be subject to restrictions on use on account of different technical specifications.
4.4 External factors such as damage caused through transportation, impact and jolting, inclement environmental conditions or natural phenomena.
4.5 Repairs or modifications not performed by service agents trained and authorised by Miele.
4.6 Damage to non-standard accessories and the failure to use genuine Miele spare parts or accessories authorised by Miele.
4.7 Glass breakage and defective lamps.
4.8 Fluctuations in power supply conditions, which exceed the tolerances stated by the manufacturer.
4.9 Failure to perform cleaning and care work in compliance with the operating instructions.
4.10 Usage-related and natural wear and tear, such as the decreasing load performance of accumulators and components that, according to the operating instructions, must be replaced regularly during the product life cycle.

6. Right of withdrawal
6.1 You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (sales subsidiary country, geographical address, telephone number and e-mail address) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or e-mail). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
7. Effects of Withdrawal
7.1 If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
7.2 If you requested to begin performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated to us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with full coverage of the contract.
